I dont know if ur experimenting with different styles, cuz this page looks far different then the rest. But can u stick with the old style, like how it was the beginning of the first chapter, it was dark, it was gritty and was pretty damn stylish in my opinion.
oh and I guess Alice does have a lil bit of a heart… She’s still gotta die, Suka too.

I figured she’d at least be torn on how to handle him, leaning towards letting him live while trying to have him do something useful. From what I remember of the earlier strips, she really does have a soft spot for him in a sisterly way.

Now, if I recall correctly, he wants to kill her because he still thinks she is selling little kids, and Alice is considering killing Elgie because he was helping Chelsea Grinn- is that correct?

I looked back, the style hasn’t changed much, if at all. This particular page isn’t that dark, but if you go back two or three, they’re pretty much the same. I think it’s just the moment here.

Comments sections sure radically turned against Alice, I suppose Elgie always was easier to identify with. Or at least easier to glorify, being somewhat of a lone rogue and therefore the underdog.

One of the things I still want to see in this comic is Chelsea’s little army of convenience falling out. I think I’d remember it from history class if Victorian England had a serious coup, so she should be doomed to fail. The moment her ‘allies’ realize she can’t deliver should be pretty sick.

We don’t actually know Optimus Prime’s measurements. Female transformers may not actually require large tools. Mickey Mouse could be sporting the bigger equipment.

But in all seriousness to the original question: I lost all respect for Suka and Alice. Morso to Alice since she’s got more knowledge and experience in the situation that she should no better. They aren’t in the right…and yes there is a right, even though they’re all low-life criminals who have done horrible things. Elgie shouldn’t even be there, there’s no reason he should be in there custody, and no reason he should have got the shit beat out of him. And despite his murderous past, Elgie IS morally better than Alice. She needs a fucking reality check. I don’t give one iota a shit about her or Suka, or their damned relationship that I used to think was adorable.

Despite the major age difference (27 and 45), I’m much more interested in seeing Chelsea and Elgie hook up. That’s not to say that my feelings toward Suka and Alice can’t be redeemed. If they can fucking wake up and really look at what they’re doing and what they’ve done.

I’m just really pissed off about the kidnapping of Elgie, the beating, the fact that Alice is ok with it, this screwed up thinking that he’s wronged them somehow when he really hasn’t, and that hypocritcal and immature speech she gave him. Maybe she should start respecting her elders, and showing a bit more appreciation for all he’s done for her, and realize that there was no reason he should even be kept there in the first place. I mean…honestly. first she wants him dead, and then she has him kidnapped? She’s got a lot to be thinking about, a lot to answer for. I’m not going to cut that bitch any slack. She needs to get her act straight.

I’m a little less hard on Suka, because, frankly, she’s just an ignorant dog who doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing.

It’s funny, I’ve never really had any problem with Alice. In fact I appreciate that her character fits the sort of black and gray morality of the world she inhabits. It always bothers me to read a story where everything around the characters is gritty but somehow all the sympathetic characters are able to keep their hands clean.

Nice people just don’t last in those places. They learn to be predators, they die, or they leave.

I’ve never had any respect for Suka though. I don’t know if she went off the deep end over Alice but her disregard for her people’s lives makes it hard for me to imagine how she managed to gather that following.

Just did an archive binge in one sitting! That’s more boobs, gore and evil than I’ve ever seen. I love it! That and unlike some of the webcomic artists I read, you’re not afraid of smut. People that can see disembowelment and hiccup at a nipple would scare the Nazi psychologists. And the smut has plot! I love it!

And there are no such thing as good people, this story just does a good enough job of realizing that that it scares people who are used to believing in the mythical “good person”. The world deserves Overlord Chelsea Grinn.

“Better to be hanged than to die for some British whore” was likely the turning point there. Suka is flawed in that she is too attached to Alice and love is a wonderful weakness to exploit. As for her following, her Penny Dreadful gives you more on that.

-shrugs- And yes, I think the people who have not decided to pull a Marie Antoinette on Alice are few and far between. Elgie, with his poor tortured background, is in fact much more friendly to public view because people want to believe that even if you do horrible things, there is still a chance for redemption. Even if you do nothing but get sloshed to try and drown out the memories and then let a psychopath kill your old friends one by one. Accepting you have done bad thing and are a bad person, being able to live with the scum world you live in and the scum things you need to do to get by is not.

But I’m going on and I’m tired.

I’m less worried about Elgie’s actual moral standing, and more worried about the reasons why he was kidnapped and beat in the first place. I fail to remember anything he actually did to Alice and Suka to warrant this. Well other than humiliate Suka by escaping her the first time around. Which is a bit of a revolving door concept in itself.

Alice wanted him dead because Chelsea was coming to kill him, and this endangered the Working Girls union. With Elgie actually working for Chelsea, and more importantly out of Alice’s hair, they should have left him the fuck alone. No one seems to get that part..

I think the reason behind the kidnapping and beating might have had something to do with how Elgie and Chelsea murdered half of Suka’s family for a house she didn’t even own anymore. Oh and then as she was bringing him back, basically telling her the woman she loves doesn’t give two spits about her. Might I ask what you think you would do if you had at your mercy someone who murdered your family brutally and then made flippant insults at you and in essence the person you love, if you were barred from killing him by the fact the person you love would never forgive you?

And you are slightly off on your second part. Alice wanted whoever survived the confrontation dead because 1) Chelsea is a murderous psychopath who knows how to find her and 2) Elgie basically said he was going to kill Alice if he survived. So, two people, extraordinary killers that both made plainly clear they had the intention to kill her after they were done with each other. That said, you are right on how Chelsea was endangering the girls by looking for Elgie. You just left out that Alice knew Elgie too well to entirely toos out that he might win. She told him to go and deal with Grinn, knowing he might die. She did not tell him to go and die.

Lastly, you are taking a great liberty that no one in the story has. You are a reader. Until Chelsea and Elgie stormed the Russians, Alice had no idea who had survived. We have a near omniscient view that the characters don’t. Do you think Chelsea would be storming Alice’s place if she knew the Highlanders were going after her family? It was assumed that one would be dead and the other would come looking for her. Which is why she hired Suka’s Sixes. During this time, she had some time to think and calm down and figured she could reason with Elgie, since she did stop whoring out kids, if he was the one to survive. But then lo and behold, Chelsea and Elgie break in, both quite alive, slaughter just about everyone they find and leave. Now, Elgie is working with Chelsea and it would be absolutely stupid to assume you can just talk him down from whatever is going on. So, the kidnapping and the beating.
